Let’s talk about Meetup.com

So…if you haven’t heard I’m a working girl now. Seriously. I work every day, all day, and then sometimes I work a little longer, and most days I head to school after that.

And it’s so AWESOME!

I have a confession to make. I’m pretty sure I hid it well in all my awesome posts about traveling while I was in Europe, but the time in between all that was pretty quiet. Yes, people, I understand I was in Florence. Yes, I understand that was an amazing, incredible, life-changing experience (I agree with everything I just wrote, with a passion).

That does not mean that life without challenging, stimulating classes, a job, an internship, or any sort of responsibility was particularly interesting on the day to day. In short, I was pretty bored most of the week. There’s only so much time I can devote to explore a city thats about 2 miles in diameter before you start to notice…there’s nothing else.

ANYWAYS. The point is, I’m back in the city and I’m overwhelmingly busy and it’s awesome. I’m tired, I’m stressed, my feet hurt, and my laundry only gets done when I notice that I’m considering wearing my yoga pants to work. But where am I working? What do I do? I get these questions ALL THE TIME but I feel like I don’t do them justice.

Where do I work? Meetup.com People create groups, join groups, and generally have a good time. There are knitting groups, christian groups, basketball groups, LGBT groups…everything!

What do I do? Interny stuff. I look up cool groups on the site and write about them. I answer super easy help emails that take no time. I look over and approve new groups. I greet every single new Organizer (the person who runs the group) with a message letting them know where to find help when they need it.

How cool is Meetup? This cool. Nah. This cool.
